Pirates Earn District Honors By editor John Beshears

Before the Region 3 1A District Tournament the District Honors were decided and Coffeeville had several that were recognized. Lady Pirates had four players named to the All-division Team. They are: Senior Yishunti Curtis; Senior Amyiah Whitfield; Senior Torrianna Wright; and Honorable Mention, Senior Tyra Horton. Senior Torrianna Wright also earned Region 3 Defensive Player Of The Year. On the Pirates side six players were named to the team. They are: Senior Marzavion Westbrook; Senior Za’kyrus Kimble; Junior Stanford Spearman Jr.;Honorable Mention, Sophomore Tocarrion Reed and Freshman Juelz Cooper. MVP for Region 3 1A was Stanford Spearman, Jr. Junior Stanford Spearman, Jr. also was named 1A Mr. Basketball for the 2023-24 campaign. So much talent in Coffeeville, congratulations to all who received honors. Last but certainly not least, thought I forgot you didn’t you coach? Coach Of The Year was bestowed on Coffeeville Pirates Head Coach Demarius Bush. Coach Bush has overcome so much in the last two years and has certainly earned this honor. Congratulations Coach Bush!
