One Step Closer! Two end caps, twelve shafts to support the bridge and thirteen sections on top of those comes to a huge total of concrete yards needed for this project. Friday contractors finished another phase of the Gums Crossing Bridge by concreting the final section. As of today they have poured over 4,100 yards of concrete on this project, over $800,000 worth if we ordered it from the concrete yard today. Recent rains threatened to shut the endevor down but the Good Lord smiled on us. Next step is to build the road bed up to the bridge which is six or seven feet higher than the one that collapsed.
