“Season of Wonder”. Another Christmas season and another Annual Christmas parade. Coffeeville’s Christmas parades are examples of “Coffeeville Can do Better”. Again, a great multitude of anxious “on lookers” all along Main, Front, Okahoma, and Oak Streets. Our Grand Marshal, Mrs. Earlene Townes, is a life-long resident, businesswoman, and an advocate for growth and development of the Coffeeville Community. When asked to be the Grand Marshal for the 2024 Coffeeville Christmas Parade, initially it was a little communication gap, but she hesitantly agreed and stated that the request was an honor, and she was very grateful for the opportunity. We really, really appreciate the support of every participant. Float Entries, Churches, Businesses, Clubs and Organizations, Fire Departments, Santa Claus, (Alderman Brad Ayers) Coffeeville School District, “Four Wheel Riders” Classic and Antique Vehicles; Motor Cycle Clubs; Show Cars: Trucking Companies; Vince Vernado, (Antique Tractor & Trailer); Sonya Murray, Alderwoman Ward 2; Mayor Shelton and First Lady, and many, many other individual entries. Thanks you Sheriff Gooch and the Sheriff’s Department officers, District #1 Constable, and Bobby West, Coffeeville’s police personnel, for excellent escort and service. The winners of the float entries are as following: First Place…Yalobusha Hospital and Nursing Home; Second Place…(Tie) Shiloh Cowboy Church, and Bethlehem MB Church; Third Place… Pat and Paul Rodrique. Our parade would not have been another successful venture, if not for the awaiting crowds of children and adults of Coffeeville and surrounding communities. Again, many of you still believe in Coffeeville, and your support is a testimony. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and are anticipating a Prosperous and Happy New Year. From all of us to all of you “Be Blessed and Bless Someone Else”. Coffeeville Parade Committee and Mayor William Shelton, Jr.
