Pastor Wayne Tinnon and Wife Karen
Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church at 6302 county road 154 Tillatoba Mississippi is back in service. On Sunday November 2 nd at 3:00 PM Pastor Wayne E. Tinnon of Memphis TN will be the guest speaker. Pastor Tinnon is a native of Tillatoba, Ms., and he received a high school diploma from Coffeeville, High School in 1976. Pastor Tinnon received an associate degree from Northwest Mississippi Junior College, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin, and a Master’s of Art degree in Theology from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2024.
Pastor Tinnon and his wife Karen celebrated thirty-six years of Marriage on September 16 th of 2025. They have two daughters and were blessed with a son-in-law in November of 2024. Pastor Tinnon professed faith in Christ at an early age at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and developed a deeper spiritual walk with the Lord Jesus Christ while attending the University of Tennessee at Martin.
After college pastor Tinnon joined South Side Church of God in Christ in Memphis, TN., and in 2010, Pastor Tinnon, lady Karen Tinnon and their two daughters; along with his brother, Elder Jard B. Tinnon and an eighty-nine year old church mother began Life in the Spirit Church, Inc. (C.O.G.I.C). The formation of the church began in a house that was built in 1896 with six people. Pastor Tinnon said in September of 2019, God opened a door for us to move to a beautiful facility in Cordova, TN. The Church’s address is 8282 Macon Rd; Zip code is 38018.
Pastor Tinnon expresses thanks to the members of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church For allowing him the opportunity to serve and to work along-beside them in helping to keep Pleasant Hill together and in remembrance as a historical pillar in the community. Pastor Tinnon wants all to know, this work was made possible by the providential hand of God.
The dynamic musical guest for this re-opening service will be the “Exciting Hearts of Joy” from Granada Mississippi. Pastor Tinnon says, “my prayer is that God’s continued blessing be upon Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and on all who will come after us; may the light of Christ forever burn brightly as a beacon of hope in this remarkable church and for the community. God’s blessings be with you all.
