It Has Been An Honor
Thursday, January 22, I was served papers from the mayor’s office informing me that I had been removed from the chief’s position at the fire department. Along with that I was to turn in all access to the fire department and all equipment issued me by Coffeeville Fire, removing me from the department completely:
“You must return all keys and other property of the Coffeeville Fire Department to Fire Chief Jarred Logan by the end of business day on January 23, 2026.”
This was without reason given, just out. For six years I have served along side some awesome people and through much trials we have overcome and built a department I hope the community is proud of.
I won’t linger over split milk, the board’s wish is my command. But, I can promise you that the Town of Coffeeville will account for our money that is supposed to be put aside for the truck payment. They will use the rebate money in a manor in which it is intended and they will explain why they used the $90,000 the state issued us for nine months delaying applying it on the truck when purchased. I may not be chief or even on the department anymore but I will not go away.
To the citizens of the Coffeeville community, it has truly been an honor to serve in the chief’s capacity, a time I will never forget.
