Jerry Wayne Lucius Obit

Mr. Jerry Wayne Lucius, 76, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. He was born September 14, 1949 in Calhoun City to J.W. and Ethel Collums Lucius. Jerry honorably served in the US Army before beginning a long career in law enforcement. He was employed as a policeman with the Grenada Police Department, Deputy Sheriff with the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department and also served as Chief of Police for the Town of Coffeeville. Jerry enjoyed working in the public and was a real “people-person” which led him to his second career as a car salesman where he cultivated and maintained many friendships. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and enjoyed playing pool in his spare time.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Interment followed in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The family received friends one hour prior to the service Sunday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include two sons, John Lucius of Six Mile, SC and Jerremy Lucius of Grenada; and four grandchildren, Alexa, Jackson, Elle and Lorili Lucius.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Dickey.
Wayne Anthony, Gary Costilow, Josh Costilow, Walt Edmondson, Wesley Phillips and Steven Rosamond will honor Jerry by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Cooper, Ricky Downs, John Johnson, Duane McKinney, Paul Poe and Kenny Williams.
