On Tuesday of this week Mrs. G. W. Milstead, 82, died at the home of her son in Water Valley where she had been for several weeks undergoing treatment.
Miss Oline Gore is leaving Thursday and will board the Know Mississippi Better Train for a two weeks’ tour of the northern section of the United States and Canada.
Miss Lummie Riddick returned home last week after attending a six weeks’ summer school at Blue Mountain.

Friends and relative are mourning with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brassel, east of town, in the loss of their son, Walter Lee, Jr., 8, who died last Saturday following an operation for appendicitis Friday night in the Water Valley Hospital.
Robert Taylor, vocational agriculture teacher, with Herschel Saucier, Eugene Perkins and Billy Pate attended an F.F.A. meeting at Miss. State the first of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. George Edward Denley announce the marriage of their daughter, Margaret Louise, to H. W. Langham of Coffeeville. The marriage was solemnized March 2 in Marion, Arkansas.
Scott Field, III — In the largest graduation exercise ever held at the Department of Communications Pvt. F. Snell, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Snell, Bryant, received his diploma.

People of this community were aroused early Wednesday morning, July 4, with a report of the grievous tragedy which took the life of 24-year-old James Oscar Ayers, Jr., one of the most popular and likable young men in this area.
Mr. and Mrs. Gale Harbour are entertaining a new daughter at their home born Monday evening, July 9. She has been named Donna Lynn Harbour.
Edward Woodall, Jr., is among the eight Explorer Scouts from the Yocona Area Council who are at Philmont Scout Ranch in Northern New Mexico.

Mrs. Henry A. Jones died in the Grenada Hospital Friday. She was 76 years old. Death was caused by a heart ailment.
James Victor Branum was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps July 6. He will undergo recruit training at Paris Island, S. C..

About one hundred sixty-five people enjoyed the dinner and program given by the Coffeeville Chamber of Commerce honoring Attorney John Pittman Stone for fifty years of service in Yalobusha County. The program was in the recreation room at Formfit/Rogers Tuesday of this week.
The Yalobusha County Board of Supervisors in session at Coffeeville Friday approved and accepted a contract with Ram Tool Company of Chicago, which calls for an election to authorize a $1,525,000 bond issue for Yalobusha County.
Mr. and Mrs. Q. B. (Sonny) Gray are announcing the birth of a daughter who arrived at the Yalobusha General Hospital Sunday afternoon, July 10. She has been named Debbie Jean Gray.

Haley Hope Hall, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hall, was crowned Wee Miss Southern Princess when she won 2nd Alternate in the Miss Southern Cotton U.S.A. Pageant held in Memphis June 26 and 27.

A son, James Nathan Toole, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mark Magee Toole of Gulfport on June 13.
Mr. and Mrs. Scott Williamson, Nashville, are announcing the birth of a daughter, Tori Beth Williamson, born Saturday, June 21.
W. B. Martin, 55, retired highway department employee, died at his home in Coffeeville early Tuesday morning, June 24.
