Coffeeville and Oakland Public Libraries will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. This is a state holiday.
“Unearth a Story” Summer Library
Program Ends July 2
Our exciting “Unearth a Story” Summer Library Program ends Monday, June 29, at Coffeeville, and Wednesday, July 2, Oakland with a birthday celebration for America 250! Last week, we learned about archaeology and diggers in both libraries, and the craft was creating their name in hieroglyphics.
The “Unearth a Story” Summer Library Program is free for children in grades K-6. This summer, we have been digging into exciting stories about reptiles, paleontology, dinosaurs, archeology, gardening, and America’s history.
America 250 Bookshelf
On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate its 250th birthday. We have an America 250 bookshelf in both libraries displaying books about American history and famous Americans. Celebrate America 250 by reading about our great nation and its history.
