Books are provided by the Mississippi Library Commission. Book Club will meet for a potluck meal and discussion on Thursday, May 9, at 5:30 PM. The book selected, The Art Forger by B. A. Shapiro, is based loosely on a true, unsolved art theft in which 13 works of art worth over $500 million today were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston in March, 1990, the largest unsolved art heist in history. For anyone who wants to join us, the book is available to download free as an e-book or audio book from Hoopla using your library card. Library Board Meets May 17 The Administrative Board of the Yalobusha County Public Library System will meet Friday, May 17, at 9:00 AM at Coffeeville Public Library. Library board meetings are open to the public in compliance with state law. Members of the public who attend board meetings may address the board for a limited time if they are on the agenda. It won’t belong before summer is here, and we are already preparing for a great summer reading adventure for children at Yalobusha County Public Library System. This year’s Summer Library Program theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” We are working on our program now and can’t wait to share stories, crafts, and lots of reading fun with area children. Be on the lookout for more information soon! Plant Swap @ Coffeeville Public Library In spite of rain and a last-minute change of venue, Coffeeville Public Library’s second annual Plant Swap April 18 was a big success. This free event was sponsored by the library, Friends of the Library, and Yalobusha County Extension Service. Master Gardeners Debbie Brooks and Lisa Kimbrough were on site. County Agent Missy Burney provided gardening information. Delicious refreshments and great door prizes were provided by Friends of the Library and the library. Pamela Redwine presented a fabulous program Cooking with Herbs complete with fresh herbs for participants to see and smell. A huge “thank you” to Debbie Brooks, Lisa Kimbrough, Kelley Ayers, Porter Wells, Pamela Redwine, Missy Burney, and others who assisted in relocating the Plant Sale to First Baptist Family Life Building. Many thanks to Bro. Craig Baker and First Baptist for allowing us to move the sale to their building.
