Summer Library Program Registration May 20-31 Registration for our free Summer Library Program for elementary age children is May 20 – May 31. Children should have attended at least one (1) year of school and be entering grades K-6 next year. A parent or legal guardian must register children at either Coffeeville or Oakland Public Library. This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” and we have lots of programs, crafts, and adventures planned at Coffeeville and Oakland Public Libraries. Each child registered in the program will receive a free book, SLP reading record, bookmark, SLP bag, activity packets, and lots of other cool incentives, while supplies last. Libraries Closed May 27 Libraries will be closed Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. Visit our libraries this week to check out books and movies to enjoy over the long holiday weekend. We have an excellent selection of military books and movies in our libraries. With special thanks and recognition to those who have served our country and to families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we wish you a Happy Memorial Day from your libraries in Coffeeville and Oakland. We will have free Smokey Bear Reading Challenge sheets in our libraries beginning June 1. The Challenge is geared for ages 4-10, but all ages are welcome.
