The storm that swept through this area Saturday night caused some power outages which caused some members of the Coffeeville Church of Christ to be absent Sunday morning. My sister from Charleston called during the bad weather to see if we were okay over here as did Mike from Greensboro, NC. -0- Tammy and I go riding around most afternoons to see the beautiful flowers, mostly the azaleas. The exquisite blooming azaleas at the home of the late Jean Wells and Smiley Arrington on Kennedy Street have really put on a show this year. We also like to ride by Hollie Field Bell’s yard and Ida Mae Jones to see her back yard. They are all so beautiful. -0- We’ve been watching to see if Coley Little Bailey is in the fields yet. Looking forward to seeing him getting in the fields and starting his yearly planting and watching the cotton grow. Late March through April is when cotton is planted according to Google. We’ll keep on the watch and report it. -0- Easter falls on April 20 this year. The most unusual Easter occurs on is March 24. The earliest date for Easter to occur is March 22nd and the latest date is April 25th. HAPPY EASTER! -0- Guest Speaker for the Coffeeville Church of Christ for Sunday school, church services, and Sunday night services was Anthony Myers. In Sunday School he spoke on sin and what is it defined as. In the morning services his subject was about love. -0- CORRECTION- In this column March 27, 2025 it was incorrectly stated that the wreath was given in memory of Mr. and Mrs. John Swearengin. It was given by the John Sturdivant family in memory of Phillip Tillman. The second correction is that I stated a verse of scripture was taken from II Thessaloians when it should have been I Thessaloians.
