The depot in Tillatoba was closed Saturday. Mr. W. H. returned to his home in Sardis.
Mrs. Keith Tillman and children Phillip, Len and John, of Tillatoba, are visiting her parents in Moscow, Tennessee.
Miss Loryn Porter, who has been working in Memphis, for several months, is home for the holidays.
Ladelle Nordan, student at Gulfport Military Academy, is home for the Christmas holidays.

December 21, 1945
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Liles died last Wednesday, and was buried in Clear Springs Cemetery.
On Sunday, December 16, Mr. and Mrs. Wash Edwards celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their lovely country home in the Velma section.
On Tuesday, December 11, Mrs. George Jones entertained 27 guests with a lovely party in the home of Mrs. Charley Jones, honoring her son, Charles on his 5th birthday.
Miss Arnell Womack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Womack, of the Shiloh section and Mr. Leon Clements were married Sunday, December 9.
Members of the Young Peoples Training Union enjoyed a grand Christmas party at the Harbour twins home Tuesday night.
Mr. Vernon Edwards of Arkabutla, where he is the vocational teacher, spent Tuesday with his mother, Mrs. Donna Edwards, who is ill.

About 40 members of the Baptist Missionary Society enjoyed their annual “blue bird” party Monday night in the lovely new home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Majure.
Mrs. Ben Sharon of Memphis, and her sister, Lt. Florence Lelia Petty, of the Army Nurse Crops, visited a short while Saturday with their aunt, Mrs. Clide Landreth, in Oakland.
Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Woodall entertained the Board of Education of the Methodist Church Monday night.
Carl Rounsaville, stationed in Korea, is home on a 30-day leave with his parents.
Misses Jean Bailey, Patricia Peeples, Ervin Sayle, Jr., and Ira Pittman, Jr., of Ole Miss, are home for the holidays.

T/Sgt. and Mrs. Roy Wright of Keesler Field, are visiting homefolks for two weeks.
Miss Mildred Duke of Wood Junior College, is spending the holidays at home with her parents.
Percy Edwin and Thomas Hunter of Memphis visited their sister, Mrs. Hubert Muirhead, and family over the weekend.

From Dr. D. T. Sayle of Greenwood comes the announcement of the birth of twins to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Durrett Sayle in the Greenwood Hospital December 16th.
Bringing holiday gladness to overflowing measure to the Leroy Edwards’ home during the Christmas holidays are Vera Edwards from her sophomore studies at M. S. C. W. and James and Shirley Edwards from State College.
Letters to Santa: Dear Santa Claus: I ama girl six years old. I want a Tiny Tears doll, ball, some slacks and lots of candy. Please don’t forget my sisters, Rita, 4, and Sharon, 7. They want a doll with clothes, a stuffed kitten, a bride doll, some books and puzzles and we all want some P.J.E.’s and my last request is please remind you that we got a heater this year and I’ll leave the door open for you. The Yalobusha County ASC Committee has selected Mr. Raymond Holland to be the county executive director for Yalobusha County ASCS office.
Tyler Wortham was elected as the new town Alderman in a special election held Tuesday of this week.
David K. Scobey of Coffeeville, a U. S. Engineers Park Ranger at the Grenada Lake Field Office is one of 40 rangers from around the nation at the University of Southern Mississippi for training.
Drs. Sam and Mary Pace of Tupelo announce the birth of their second son born Saturday, December 13, 1980, in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He has been named Gordon McKinstry Pace.

Rev. James Fancher, pastor of First Baptist Church, Coffeeville, submitted his resignation to the church on December 18, 1985. He and Mrs. Fancher will leave January 16, 1986, to serve the Monticello Baptist Chruch in South Mississippi.
Most of us were surprised Friday morning, December 20, to wake up to a real nice snow — about an inch — which melted away by noon.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pittman celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary Monday, December 23. Mr. Pittman also celebrated his 92nd birthday Friday, December 20.
