Funeral Services were held last Friday afternoon for Mrs. Grady Kyle who passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home in Tillatoba.
Pvt. Carl Hugh Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Price Jones of the Dividing Ridge section, drowned in the Yalobusha River last Monday while on a fishing trip with his neighbors.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gray are the proud parents of a baby girl named Carol, born last Thursday.
Mrs. Leona Cook, of Oakland, died early Wednesday night following several months illness.

Funeral services for Mr. E. V. Denton were held at the Coffeeville Baptist Church Saturday afternoon, July 14.
Johnny Rowsey, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Gene Rowsey, was honored recently by being chosen to receive the “Order of the Arrow”, for having been chosen as Most Outstanding in his local scout troop.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gibson recently received a letter from the Dean at Mississippi State College commending their son, William Earl Gibson, for his excellent record in college work there.
Miss Joan Shannon, after finishing Draughon’s Business College in Memphis recently, spent two weeks here with her parents. She then returned to Memphis where she has work with the Colvet Insurance Company.

The death of Thomas Edward Terry late Saturday afternoon, July 10, came as a shock, although his family and friends were aware of his weakened condition following several months of confinement in the Yalobusha County Nursing Home.
Coffeeville Tigers Baseball Team: Roger Brower, Frank Fernandez III, Darrell Dean, Joey Purdy, Shot Harbour, Andy Shaw, Pitt Kimbrough, Paul Martin, Bubba Martin and Ben Pace, Coaches are John Wayne Purdy and J. T. Martin.
Coffeeville Pirates Baseball Team: David Keith Smith, Johnny Jones, Barry Mixon, Brad Miller, Bill Benoist, Robert Duke, Jamie Hickman, Ronny Joe Brower, Ray Boxx, John Nelson Covington, Bubba Shaw, Phil Coleman, Mike Melton and Brad Peeples. Coaches are W. W. Jones and Aven Jones.

Charles A. Ellard has been designated Associate Medical Center Director at the Tomah (Wisconsin) VA Medical Center effective July 12, 1981. His wife is the former Miss Martha Ann Fancher.
Eva Learned, a senior at Kirk Academy, has just returned from a weekend long stay at Girls’ State at Hinds Junior College in Jackson. She is the daughter of Mrs. Bob Learned and the lat Mr. Learned of Oakland.
John Scott Purdy has accepted a position with Texaco Oil Company in Longview, Texas. He is the son of John Wayne and Vivian Purdy.
As of this week Danny Adams has assumed the duties of manager of the Piggly Wiggly store here in Coffeeville. He comes here from Murray, KY, is single and lives out on the Elam Road.
Walter Clyde Moak, retired minister of Shiloh Baptist Church, died Friday, July 10, at his home here after suffering a heart attack.

Five students of Yalobusha County, are among 252 candidates for degrees for the summer semester at Ole Miss. From Coffeeville: Teresa Ross will receive a Bachelor of Accountancy. From Water Valley: Charlotte Yvette Gray will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Education; Gregory Alan Burgess, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science; Richard Earl Farris, Bachelor of Arts and Glen Dwight Zediker, Bachelor of Arts.
Kris Brasher, Tyrowone Kimble, Mike Martin and Terrence Crawford have been chosen as All Stars from the Coffeeville Little League Baseball Team and are called the North Skuna All Stars. Their coaches are Tommy Marshall and Bobby Martin.
Louis W. Hollis, 85, widower of the former Annice Pate, died July 9, at the home of his son in Brandon.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lowrimore are announcing the birth of a daughter, Amy Janell, born July 10.
Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Ayers are proud to announce the birth of their third child, Steven Glen Ayers, born July 9.
