Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pipkin, of Sweetwater, Texas, their grandchildren, Kay and Phillip Haley, of Ft. Worth, Texas, visited with Minnie and me on Friday afternoon. They spent Friday night in a Motel of Grenada, then Saturday morning they came by and carried me up to the Pipkin old home with them where we were to meet Mrs. Louise Pipkin Hollaway, Littleton Pipkin and Morris Holloway and Mrs. Gene Kessler, of Boytown, Texas, who had come for the same purpose that Fred’s folks had to attend the Pipkin reunion Sunday. (Gene’s daughter, Karen, and her friend accompanied Mrs. Horris Holloway to Grenada Saturday on a shopping trip.) We enjoyed so much visiting in the old home of where our grandfathers, even our greatgrandfathers lived and reared our grandparents, parents and some of “us”. We had a picnic lunch, cold water, Colas, hot coffee, spread on the dining room table. On Sunday, June 24, we had our annual reunion (Pipkin family) in the grand old home of the Phil Shermans. Most everybody missed sister Sallie, Gilbert Stinson and Brother Bob, Sims and the Ross (Sarah Lee’s) family- this includes Sammie Tilghan also. We were so glad to have Mrs. Fred Pipkin and Phillip Haley who had never been able to be with us. As usual, singing in the afternoon was one of the highlights and the hight of this highlight was 5 year old Phillip Haley singing several songs- all memorized. We all got a kick and a shock from his performance- enjoyed him so much. Charlie you must coime next year to the reunion. (He says he likes a more common name than Phillip’. “Just call me Charlie.”, he told me Saturday. (Please excuse the ‘split’ in the reunion item.)
