Medicare Supplement Program at Oakland Feb. 28 Tiffany Fletcher of the Fletcher Group will be guest speaker at Friends of the Oakland Public Library on Wednesday, February 28th at 1:30 PM. She will be speaking and answering questions on Medicare supplement programs. The public is invited to attend this free program at Oakland Public Library. Happy Birthday, Dr.Seuss at Coffeeville March 1 Coffeeville Public Library will host Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss program Friday, March 1, 4:00 – 5:00 PM for kids of all ages. Join us as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with stories by guest readers, crafts, and birthday cake. Thanks to Brad Ayers for providing the cake! Join us for this fun, free program. Spring Book Club @ Coffeeville March 14 Coffeeville Public Library will host a Spring Book Club for interested readers. Books are borrowed free from the MS Library Commission. The group will meet two times. The first meeting will be March 14 at 5:30 PM to receive the book the selected, The Art Forger by B. A. Shapiro which is based on an unsolved art theft. The second meeting will be May 2 when the group comes back together to discuss. On March 18, 1990, thirteen works of art worth over $500 million today were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. It remains the largest unsolved art heist in history, and Claire Roth, a struggling young artist, is about to discover that there’s more to this crime than meets the eye in this thrilling novel. Coffeeville Friends of the Library Memorial Donations Friends of Coffeeville Public Library recently received a memorial donation given in memory of Nelle Lowe by Terry Denley Page. Artist Exhibit @ Oakland Public Library Friends of Oakland Public Library are sponsoring an Artist Exhibit in the library. The February artist GayLynn Haynes has several colorful paintings on display in the library until the end of the month. Visit the library to view the work of this talented local artist. Winter Reading Challenge Ends Feb. 29 Yalobusha County Public Library System’s Winter Reading Challenge for readers of all ages ends Feb. 29. At the end of the challenge, we will be giving away two (2) Amazon Fire 7 tablets and other prizes to readers who have checked out four books and entered our prize drawing during the Winter Reading Challenge. Winners will be drawn and notified by Monday, March 4. 2023 Tax Forms Available We have 2023 federal tax forms 1040 and 1040SR and Instructions as well as MS state tax forms. Visit your library at Coffeeville or Oakland to get the forms you need. March Grab & Go Bags Yalobusha County Public Library System provides free monthly Grab & Go bags for elementary age children in both Coffeeville and Oakland libraries. March Grab & Go bags will be available March 1. Bags include activities for children, an Easter chick craft, and a treat.
