Our Easter was celebrated differently this year – we did not have the usual lunch of ham, potato salad, and beans, plus a salad and dessert, but our meal was at 5:00 P. M. consisting of finger foods of pigs n’ a blanket, chicken salad, chips and dip with rotel too, devilled eggs and rice crispie treats. After the fire at Scuna Valley, we didn’t finish our meal until after 7:00 P. M. When the firemen came back then the easter eggs were hidden and the hunt followed. It was quite exciting as Marie suggested to Tammy that she push my chair up to the back door so I could watch. Good day!

Sylvia came by Saturday afternoon with somethings that had been cleaned from Walter’s apartment in Oakland. I did not go over as I felt I would be in the way. Dianne and chuck and Sylvia and probably some others had a day filled with getting the apartment cleaned. Walter lived there for a number of years before becoming ill and hospitalized in Charleston, Cleveland, Madison and Batesville before his death on March 19, 2024.

Little Wren Williams, 2 1/2 month old baby of Madison and Colby Williams, was at the Church services Sunday morning. I didn’t get a close look at her as I was setting several pews up and others were getting a peep at the precious baby.

John Pigg of Ridgeland was our guest speaker at the Coffeeville Church of Christ Sunday morning. He presented a wonderful and informing lesson on Resurrection Sunday. The disciples who had been with Jesus for three years plus Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus did not fully understand how Jesus would arise from the dead in three days. There were others who did not understand also, like the disciple Thomas, known as Doubting Thomas. It always makes tears run down my cheeks when Thomas felt the nail scars in Jesus’ hands and feet and said, “My Lord and my God.” It was a wonderful sermon.

Dr. Bridgers is scheduled to perform an upper GI on me in Batesville Thursday. I have had the procedure performed before I say it is having my esophagus stretched.
