We enjoyed having Madolyn and Eddie Lewis as our guest at the Coffeeville Church of Christ Sunday. After morning services we enjoyed lunch at the fellowship building. At 2:00 we had services with Bro. Eddie Lewis preaching again. We enjoyed the services very much. Bro Larry Lott of Gluckstadt will be preaching next Sunday.

Caitlin Clark who plays basketball for the Indiana Fever was drafted as number one in the WNBA draft told her Coach team USA woke a monster by not picking her for the olympic team. Chennedy Carter who plays for the Chicago Sky was charged with a fragrant foul against Clark a couple of weekends ago. I think I would have come up swinging after being knocked down by another player who shoved me.

I enjoyed watching the D-Day Ceremonies 80th Anniversary at Normandy American Cemetery which stands directly above Omaha Beach, in the final resting place for more than 9,000 veterans. Our family friend James (Buddy) Kiihnl of the Enid-Teasdale area of Tallahatchie County who had two brothers who were members of the Rangers who scaled the cliffs of Normandy Beach- La Pointe du Hoc how under enemy gunfire on D-Day 80 years ago. They were Willard and Charles Kiihnl. They were both wounded very badly after crossing the English channel and going across the beach. We are all grasteful for their service. La Pointe du Hoc is on a cliff eight miles west of Normandy Americans Cemetery. It was erected by the French to honor elements of the Second Ranger Battalion under the commander of Lt. Col. James L. Ruddler.

After nine days spent in the swing bed unit of Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, I returned home Friday. On June 3, 2024, the nurses said Dr. Abraham came in the nurses station singing “It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty day.”

When riding past Dollar General Saturday afternoon, Tammy and I saw that Coley Little Bailey had planted his patches of cotton and it seemed to be two inches high. I may be wrong but it seems like it to me.
