Seed & Plant Swap at Coffeeville Thursday, April 10 Coffeeville Friends of the Library and Yalobusha County Extension are partnering to bring our third annual Seed & Plant Swap on Thursday, April 10, 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the parking lot of Coffeeville Public Library. Bring your seeds and plants to swap 1 for 1. Master Gardeners from our area will be on site, and Pamela Redwine will present “Cooking with Herbs” inside the library at 4:30 PM. We will have fantastic door prizes and crafts for the kids. In the event of rain or bad weather, the event will be held in FBC Family Life Center right behind the library. Be sure to mark your calendar and join us for this free event for the whole family. Reception Honoring Joy Mullen April 6 Thanks to everyone who attended the Reception honoring Joy Mullen Sunday, April 6 at Oakland Public Library hosted by Yalobusha County Public Library System. A large crowd attended to celebrate Mrs. Mullen, who retired from service on the Library Administrative Board in October 2024 after more than 40 years of service. We appreciate Joy and her many years of service to the library system and to Oakland Public Library, where she also organizes weekly game days. National Library Week April 6 – 10 Celebrate National Library Week with us April 6-12 at Coffeeville and Oakland Public Libraries. This year’s theme is “Drawn to the Library. In addition to special events planned, visit your library and share why you’re “drawn” to the library by creating your own self-portrait or poster. What’s the draw? What brings you to the library? We want to know. Be sure to visit the library in Coffeeville or Oakland this week to celebrate National Library Week with us. Peeps Diorama Voting April 14-17 @ Coffeeville Yalobusha County Extension offers a Peeps Diorama Contest for kids ages 5 -18 with prizes awarded in 4 categories. Dioramas must have a book theme and contain more than 1 Peep. Enter by April 14 by calling MSU Extension (662) 675-2730. Peeps Dioramas will be on display for voting at Coffeeville Public Library April 14 – 17. Come see these fun Peeps Dioramas at Coffeeville. Tax Forms at the Library April 15 is quickly approaching. 2024 state and federal tax forms are available now in the libraries. We have 2024 Forms 1040 and 1040 SR and instruction booklets as well Mississippi 2024 Tax forms at both Oakland and Coffeeville. The forms are free; copies are .20 a page. Get ready for Tax Season at your local library. Libraries Closed April 18 Coffeeville and Oakland Public Libraries will be closed Friday, April 18. April Event Calendars Every month, we offer paper calendars in both libraries with a full schedule of programs and events. April calendars are now available in the libraries, and they are also published in the Coffeeville Courier.
