Hartley said they had Mark a birthday party Friday night after trunk a treat at the church. She cooked a lot of food, as usual. Those attending were Faye, Kristie, Nathan, Rowland, Mary Brett, and Mclendon Hartley, Annie, Saylor and Emily Box. Lots of good food, fellowship and presents. I know Mark loved all of those presents and of course the good food.

Visiting with your writer and David this week was friend Larry Franklin of Hardey, telling us about the sad news of losing his daddy , A.C. Frankin, who was in a nursing home in Kentucky. Larry had lost his mother Wynette Franklin three months ago. Love and

Prayers for the Franklin family.

My friend, I am still here , says Martha Box. I wake up singing, “Thank you Lord.”Then it’s “why me, Lord.”what would you have me do today?”So glad HE hears my moaning!

Nothing exciting or accomplished this week. Candy Box’s Birthday was the 29th. She told her age so I said yeah babe I was only 7 when I adopted you when you were 21 ! Lol . The first Box girl born in 26 yrs …spoiled rotten by all those Boxes!

So I am now cooking for her Birthday gathering.

Martha said it was a great visit to Tillatoba Baptist Church Sunday. I tell you even those beautiful happy children felt the Spirit ! It sure lifted me up, she said! Bro. Ricky shared the Truth under the power of the Holy Ghost !

Tommy and Deborah McCool spent the weekend in Leland again. Alice Kellum

came with us of course. Tommy was finishing up repairing his sister Patty’s car. Had to order a couple parts and then get time to get down there and put them on . We came back Sunday after he made sure everything was running good for her. Her husband is still in rehab in Cleveland hospital.

Faye Hartley has already started taking orders for her famous rolls and bread for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. If you’ve never had any, you have missed out. Faye said she wouldn’t be able to make as many as she usually does since she had her surgery in September so get your orders in now. I bet before it’s over, she will be in that kitchen, making rolls and bread, as if she’s never had surgery.

Our friend Susan Bell of Caledonia called Friday afternoon and wanted to know if we felt like company coming for Saturday night and Sunday. we always enjoy Susan and Phillips visit They had been to the sweet potato festival at Vardeman Mississippi and brought a sample plate of the things they make with sweet potatoes and brought a delicious sweet potato pie, red beans, and rice and cornbread muffins that Phillip had made. It was all so good including the sweet potato punch.
