Native American
Heritage Program
Nov. 19 at Oakland
November is Native American History month, and Friends of Oakland Public Library will host a Native American Heritage program Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 1:30 PM at the library. Special guest speaker will Allen Winters, a member of the MS Band of Choctaw. This program is free and open to the public.
Homeschool Hangout Thursday, Nov. 20
at Coffeeville
Homeschool students and families are invited to Homeschool Hangout at Coffeeville Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 4:30 PM. Come enjoy all the resources and materials your library has to offer with unstructured library time for you and your family. We will have Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage crafts and activities. Come check out books. Board games, puzzles, STEM toys, and computers will also be available. Come hang out with us at the library on Thursday, November 20.

Your Library
Both Coffeeville and Oakland Public Libraries have a “Thankful Door” where the public may add what they’re thankful for. You do not have to add your name, just what your feel grateful for at this season. Be sure to visit us before Thanksgiving to share your gratitude on our “Thankful Doors.”
Drop-In Thanksgiving Crafts Nov. 18-26
Children and youth are invited to the library in November for “drop-in” Thanksgiving crafts Nov. 18- 26. Both Coffeeville and Oakland have creative Thanksgiving projects for kids to make at the library or take home. Be sure to drop in while schools are closed for the holiday.
Libraries Closed for Thanksgiving Nov.27-28
Libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving holidays Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. These are holidays for the state of Mississippi. Happy Thanksgiving!
Oakland Public Library Open Sat., Dec. 6 and 20
Come enjoy the wonders found at Oakland Public Library on Saturdays, Dec. 6 and again on Dec. 20 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. The library will be open to check out books and other materials, use computers, make a craft, or sit and read. In December, we are adjusting the hours to afternoon in order to serve more patrons.

Thanks to Delta Health Alliance, Coffeeville and Oakland Public Libraries have a selection of books suitable for babies and toddlers to give away free. If you have a baby or a toddler, visit our libraries to get free books for your child. Reading to babies
